Hi guys, sorry to have yet another ECU/BEM question but I dont think it's been covered, if it has I am sorry and please send me the link.
I have a 98 S1 Fairmont v8 and auto to go into a 1950's International pickup. I have the engine, auto, ECU and short loom (eng to ECU) Can I get this going with what I have?, if not what do I need? Bear in mind the end use, I do not want to use the AU keys or instruments but I do have to use AU injection and ECU. Thanks in advance. Mike. Last edited by mikecool84; 29-11-2016 at 02:50 PM. think your question is how to put the engine in an older vehicle with out using the bem that relies on the key and ignition barrel , that sum it up ??
the you need a bypass unit like http://www.shiftkits.com.au/index.ph...&products_id=4 or is there more to your question

yes still (as money n time permit) doing the rebuilding the zh fairlane with a clevo 400m 4v heads injected whipple blown with aode 4 speed trans to a 9" ....... we'll get there eventually just remember don't be afraid to try something new. I put one into my old mans xh ute who had a faulty BEM which is a common fault. It worked a treat, bypassing smart lock and allowed the car to start. It had been in their now for over 5 years without a problem.

Thanks Bernbo! Good to know it works and has for a while.
Anyone done a conversion/swap type situation using one of these? Keen to understand how if the AU engine harness is easily adapted to another entirely different vehicle. Cheers. |

Im running an AU 5.0 in my Nissan patrol.
You need some smarts to sort out the harness but it can be done. Mine runs standalone on the factory ecu and harness. |

Nope i used a moates quarterhorse.
That way i could turn off security , convert the tune to manual from auto and have future tuning capability. |
