Default 1967 MK2 Cortina Saloon 220 Serial Prefix

Hi All. I am trying to find out more on a little cortina I have. I have worked out most of the prefix number but not all of it. If any one can point me in the right direction on working it out or someone may know off hand what I am missing means. Would be greatly appreciated.

The Serial Prefix is:
CG71GU 87927 249440 12712
W Y

C = Australia
G = Broadmeadows
71 = 220 Model??
G= 1967
U = October

87927 - Production Sequence No or serial chassis No????

249440 - SIDO No (single item dealer order No) ????

12712 = 220 2 Door Bucket Seats

W - Paint Code?????

Y - Trim Code???????

I have also got the details off the Engine Plate. I am wanting to know if the engine is a 1300cc or a 1500cc which I think may have been an option back then. Not sure. Would be nice to know if someone can help please.

Eng No = AVOR6348

Model = 120 E 0

The 71 is referring to the model type but I can't find that in my info, 74 is 220 & 240.
87927 is serial number
12712 is right as 2 door 220.
W is Vista green.
I don't have any trim codes.
Engine codes should be L= 1300, D= 1500 or 1600, F= GT 1500 or 1600

Firstly, the C doesn't mean Australia, it means UK, an Export CKD (Completely Knocked Down) kit. This code was used on Cortinas, Capri's, Escorts, etc., shipped to not only Australia for assembly but to South Africa, Thailand and Japan. The 71 code means Cortina, 2-door, perhaps with a bench seat?, I've come across it before. All the other coding is correct with the Y trim code being Palamino.

A wild guess, but 120E was the code for the Corsair 1500, so perhaps the engine is a 1500.
