Monaro V Rubbish Truck

Not too bad and will buff out.

But old mate could be parked outside the bay as when it gets hit it the bays white line looks to be behind his back wheel. Also the Monaro seems to be way to close to the roundabout to be in a bay.

Why would Monaro be parked on a solid white line so close to an intersection

little blue car's fault! didn't leave enough room for the garbo to get through. having said that, the garbo shouldn't have barged. I can't see that it's the Monaro's fault at all. Parking looks good to me. close to the kerb, and the correct side of the no stopping sign

I don't see a white line, but I wouldnt park my car there either - too tight.

If you stop the vid at 0.17 and do a few very quick clicks etc you will see the line indicating the bays end and he's outside of it. Water covered it.

Might be an issue for insurance but otherwise immaterial.

Love how everyone online is into the Monaro driver. How about the truck is in the wrong for hitting a parked car regardless of where it was parked. You can't just drive a vehicle into another parked vehicle and say it's their fault.

The Monaro is also parked back from the no standing standing sign if you look closely.

Bit of an aside,but friends live in Sunbury where the streets are too narrow for 2 parked cars to leave room for the garbage trucks.The Council then come through and book people for parking partially on the footpath

Its a bit of a thing out here, the newer developments with their properties and driveways are too small to actually fit cars in, the streets are real narrow to get the most land out of a development.

You can't park half on the nature strip and half on the road, you'll get fined by council.

But you can park on the road (thats real narrow) - so you just end up with people parking on the road.

Put your glasses on as the driver was sitting in R/H/side of cabin; quite obvious he was not picking up garbage in the area.

Glad your not a copper handing out fines! the little blue car is legally in its side of the road lane. As you stated the Garbage truck barged through who is obviously 100% at fault, he should have waited for the two oncoming cars to go through first leaving himself adequate clearance to get through.

Glad your not a copper handing out fines! the little blue car is legally in its side of the road lane. As you stated the Garbage truck barged through who is obviously 100% at fault, he should have waited for the two oncoming cars to go through first leaving himself adequate clearance to get through.

However he needs driving lessons as much as you need an attitude change.

Regardless of whos wrong or right here what a *&^& of a job. And no disrespect to them because I couldn't maintain that concentration. And lets face it, if they went on strike for a few weeks you wouldn't be able to reverse your car out of the drive-way.

And they have to contend with narrow streets, fools putting their bins where they shouldn't be, cars parked all over the place or reversing, kids or dogs running out onto the street.

And council don't help by allowing parking so close to the roundabout, there's less than a lane width entering the roundabout. Accident waiting to happen.

In NSW the blue car would've been booked for "not parking close & parallel". Look how far from the kerb he is, not very considerate in such a narrow street.

He is not 100% to blame but he certainly is a major contributing factor.

The blue Nissan isn't parked - driver looks to be giving way to the truck and the following car (one with dash cam). There is another car behind the Nissan, also waiting.

But he definitely is way too far from the curb. Not very considerate at all. Basically forced the truck over. And for such tight confines, the truck wasn't exactly creeping along. More than one person you can point a finger at here for this incident. No way I would be parking my car out in a narrow street like that.

The blue car driver is probably well aware, probably why they were already standing still and waiting for the truck to pass the moment they saw the truck turn into that street.

I'd say the blame here is spread between a few drivers.

Truck going too fast & no care. Blue car stopped too far from the kerb & why is the Monaro sitting there at all ?
