Talking Focus fitting a Light Bar

2010 ford focus - I want to fit a light bar onto a light bar mounting plate - the typical mounting plate you get from supercheap. Most vidoes show removing the entire front grille assembly - scary - is this the only way ? looking for the best way on how to mount the light bar bracket.

Thanks

Ideally place some plywood behind the bumper skin so the screws of the light bar mount go into this as well as the bumper. This spreads the load and reduces sagging
