Exclamation HELP! I need reasons why a clevo is better than a windsor

(Hopefully) I will be getting an ZA and its got a 351c in it and im a windsor man. I love them for sound a hard revs and other reasons. Please give me some reasons why a clevo is better than a windsor. Thanks for your thoughts!

Easy, wheezers were brought in because the Clevo's were too manly for the EPA. Clevo's were designed to be a race engine, wheezers were designed to get by emissions laws.

Clevelands make more power per $ too!

I love the sound more of the clevo, but to me the clevo is more of a racey engine because it can rev higher where as the windsor runs out of puff. Also there are more aftermarket parts available for the clevo but correct me if i'm wrong.

How could that be, when the Weezer was designed before the Clevo?

The way I see it, Clevo for carby, Clevo for BBQ fuel, Weezer for EFI. And that's only because it's way easier to do.

Ford soon realised the Superior Engine (tm) was the Cleveland and canned the Windsor... only to be screwed by EPA laws and have to revert back to them. I have to admit I had forgotten about early windsors though.... mainly because the 250 2V 6cyl was tougher than the windsors.

hmm i think it is a two fold arguement
Are you talking 302 or 351?
I would of said that the 302 Windsor has it all over the Clevo as far as aftermarket goodies go
351C has more potential than its 351 Windsor counterpart with stroker kits, race applications etc
but
The 351 Windsor is no where near as top heavy and get marks for its ability to fit where a CLevo can't

I like the windsors... but im Biased.
If anything i'd like a big assed N/A Clevo or 347 stroked/blown wheezer :P

get a windsor and lighten ur toe

Im a cleveland man for hugh power and strength until i did some testing in cosworth factory and played with the SVO windsor beasts, I like all ford engines but now i have a 428 so u can keep ur toy engines LOL Kiddn

I have both .... But here's my opinion in the matter

Clevelands are big/heavier than windsor(302), but breath better

Windsors were revvy engines (namly the 289), are lighter.......

Sooooo..

Why dont you put clevland heads onto a 302 windsor (with the small modifications needed)....

Best of both worlds!!

only advantage the winsor has i recon is serious big revs in the 289. but clevo heads on the winsor is the goods. i recon as much as the clevo bottom end is strong as an ox its too heavy.

Clevos are a much stronger block you don't need any of these nancy boy stud girdles like the snap happy wheezers also the Clevo heads can produce good power without much trouble the wheezers are only usefull for boat anchors plus Clevos sound waaaaay tougher

If the BOSS was a good combination of Windsor block and Cleveland heads then why weren't they mass produced and put into all GT's? Was there a downside to the BOSS?

They make lots of power. It's the only reason to own a cleveland.

Every motor can go hard, but over the last 3 years, things have improved ten fold for the cleveland, and its only going to get better from here on in. When a strong, economical aftermarket block is made, we wont want or need anything else.

What motor did that have in it? 302w

and the 600bhp Cleveland 'Super Falcon' XY GTHO couldn't beat it...

I'll stand corrected, but dont the windsor blocks have thicker wall thickness'es (?) than the clevelands??. Gives a little bit more to work with.
Plus as someone said earlier they will fit into tighter spots. Doesnt that have to be a bonus?
Aftermarket items for a windsor are far more abundant than a cleveland.
I just wish locating a good 351 windsor motor to play with was easier.

The word cleveland sounds cooler than windsor.

Windsor sounds like an all boys christain college...
