Talking Took my new XR8 for a blast last night.

After picking up my BA XR8 on Monday I finally got to go for a decent squirt in it last night. Im stoked :1syellow1 , such a different car to my EB, runs so sweet , and the way it just loves to rev! feels a bit lazy down low but once it hits 3-3500 grand its just party time, turns in so well, brakes felt pretty good but I didnt give them a hard workout preferring to concentrate getting used to a different powerband and six spd. Shift felt a bit notchy but gearbox great, aside trom a little driveline slop,Im stoked :1syellow1
My only real criticism would be when I downchange I heel and toe, and with the electronic throttle you cant just give the acc.pedal a little pat between changes, feels like you have to push it down too far to get the engine to respond, that and the lack of a left foot rest. But Im still stoked !!!:1syellow1

Cant wait for cold air kit, dual exhaust and edit : :
Did I mention that Im stoked? Must change my username :eclipsee_

Congratz on the new ride.

You'll get used to bliping the throttle on the downshifts, trust me!

You'll get used to the downshifts just as SunDrifter said. However your edit can bring throttle/throttle body back in line which could help a great deal.

Also an edit will clear up your bottom end.

I agree i dont like the electronic throttle much for heal towing either feels like it needs pushing rater than stabing but hey i'm sure you'll work it out. I don't know for sure but throttle response may be able to be adjusted with a flash

The box will only be notchy for a day or two, when i first got mine it wouldn't downshift. Done 3ook's in the first night and it was great by the next day. Bet you cant keep out of it can you.

Haven't driven mine in nearly 6 weeks and boy do i miss it, cant wait to get it back.

Not sure about the XR8, but some cars with electronic throttles do a beautiful rev match on downshifts if you just quickly punch them for a moment - trouble is, as you say, it's not quite that easy to push it that far under a heel/toe situation.
