Hi Stace

Set base Ign Timing to approx 13 deg BTDC and base idel can be set with idle screw to 700-800 rpm and all should be good.

To set ignition timing dont forget to put engine into ignition set mode by bridging the top and bottom left pins on your diagnosis plug.

The specs come with the cam assuming you've bought it from JMM direct. From memory I think it was 42deg TDC

The timing in of the cam is usually done to the grinders spec on the cam card but typically for a JMM cam it will be set to 38-42 thou intake valve lift ATDC on no.1 not firing stroke obviously.

you can run them from 10-60 though and it will run. being mindfull of piston clearance if the heads shaved.

Advanced up to 60 thou is typically smooth but not feeling like it wants to rev.

Retarded 10 thou is idle gutless down low with a switch like feel at 3500 and loves to rev out.

Somewhere in between gives the broadest powerband and best results.
