Smile New computer time....

Its spend, spend time for me..
Just updated my computer for home.
New dual core AMD 64bit 3800 CPU on an ASUS motherboard, two 128 meg ATI Radeon SLi linked graphic cards.
Can't wait tho load up some games and see how they perform on the new set up.

Niiice one! Sounds like a monster. I would have bought a Mac, but at least you didn't buy a dell. Games are waaay better on PC anyways though right?

The general consensus is that dual core isn't that good for games at the moment, at least not until games are written to take advantage of the dual core CPU. Effectively you'll have one chip taking care of OS overheads and other processes, the other working flat out running the game. A single core CPU of the same value would be better for gaming. Dual core for heavy multitasking

Radeon's don't use SLI, only nVidia cards. ATi cards have "Crossfire," wasn't aware that Crossfire supporting motherboard's were out yet here, but there you go.

Nice purchase. Good choice with the Radeon, cross fire is more flexible than SLI.
