The M3 CSL is a screamer no doubt, a truly capable vehicle. It would be quicker than the RS4 probably on and off the track. Which would I get if I were financial enough? I'd still take the RS4 - the CSL was over $200,000 over here and even in spite of it's performance credentials, I can't see the dollar value. For a stripped out racer, I'd look squarely at the Evo IX with Ralliart mods (something like the FQ models in the UK, as seen on Top Gear), or even the Ariel Atom with optional 300hp supercharged engine. But I guess if you had enough money to throw $200k at something that is a stripped track special, value doesn't matter!!!! :

The CSL was OK. But it's premium over the M3 was rediculous. That, and as an overall street car package, it was extremley flawed.
RS4 is comfortable, accelerates alot faster, and I'm willing to bet would be a good match on a track. I just want one of those things...

[QUOTE=MrSparkle]Don't tell me you're getting a taste for the muscular luxury offerings from Deutchland, YM? :newangel:
/QUOTE] Just researching what type of car my boss is going to buy me at the end of the year. If we do well, he said I can have whatever car I want. I'm leaning toward the M3 convertable. |

^^YM you'd better be kidding
Audi is a sexy car, but the M3 would still be my pick. The only thing the audi lacks in is steering feel from all reports. its seems most audi's and mercs do. Lifes tough when you have to make those decisions. But a convertible M3...drool...who cares about rigitity when you are cruising in that!

Black with black and red leather interior. Must admit I drove it like a grandma, too scared I was going to crash it. Have another friend with a 323i convertible, still nice to drive, but nothing like the M3, and another friend with a 2004 CLK convertible who got a little too anebriated to drive home from the pub last week, so unfortunately the keys had to be thrown my way. I felt really unco driving it though, it feels really big. Maybe it's cos I'm little, I don't know, but definately wouldn't buy one of those. Last edited by Yummy Mummy; 19-02-2006 at 10:59 AM. |

Nothing wrong with the M3 in non-CSL form either, and there is a lot to be said for having no roof on a cool summer evening. :hihi: I've been in a CLK (non-AMG) coupe recently and it was a bit of a letdown, they are definitely ageing now in the interior, and the performance was not exactly sensational. The S4 cabrio would be worth a look, as it is the "natural enemy" to the M3 in the market. SLK55 would be sensational as well, can vouch for the noise they make! So in conclusion, yes I am jealous!!! :
