OK ..... We now have Broadband here out in the scrub

The youngest is itching to get onto X Box Live & I have read the instructions & am still a bit confused .......

:

Can anyone give me some Lisa proof directions on how to get this thing hooked up & then get the boy online to play the games

Also ........ We have to use the USB cord for the modem as there is no ethernet on this computer..... The youngest thinks he can plug the ethernet cord into the modem at the same time as we have the usb cord in ......... I dont think that will work .... Will it ?????????

do you have a XBOX live starter kit ? or a 2 month trial ?

And not sure about the USB & ETHERNET cable in at once, just try it i guess

yes we do have the starter kit ... its a 12 month subscription.......

So how do I set it all up ??????

depending on your adsl modem, it should work.

in the menu go to xbox live, and from memory it asks you for the number on the card you get in the starter kit, you have to put in your credit card details and then choose a gamertag and thats it. could be a lot more to it, its been a year since i set it up

if money is an issue, check out ebay, you can always snap up cheap games there!! most games go anywhere between 30-60 bucks

OK have set this thing up now ...... Its all signed up but he cant seem to find anyone to play with.

He has Halo 2, Rally Sport Challenge2, Big Game Hunter, Crimson Skies and MotoX trial thinggy that came with the kit ........

Is there a special place he should be going to find out whos online ????????

Also his gamer name thinggy is zacbra should anyone see him at all

i play halo a bit...have heaps of others but dont bother...halo is the best by far.

What he needs to do is send freind invites to people an then he can see who,what were and when they are playing.Do it in the halo menu,its the easyiest to use.

just wanting to know if u can play people on halo2 for eg on a normal xbox (on Xbox Live) ???

i read some info on it .. but i forgot, and can't find it again :P

Halo2 has atleast 5000 people on at one time, he mustnt be getting into matchmaking properly.

Micksta - yeah mate you will play Halo2 like normal, the 360 just runs an emulator pretty much, my brother has 360 and play against him all the time on my old xbox on live. Halo2 looks like a different game on 360, so clear !!! But unfortunatly no patch made for V8 Supercars 3 yet :(

He is a respectful 11yr old though as he knows his bum will be kicked if not ...... one of the other fellas has been playing with him on halo in the past few days & I really appreciate it .... hes teaching heaps about something I have NFI about ;)

i'd be more than happy to teach him some tricks on halo 2 ;) I have over 2 years worth of gaming on xbox live with this game. I'm quite the gamer.

Yeah i tryed like, last year, but the only response i got was 'why would i pay $80 a year to MS to play games' lol.

But i would be up for it !

I will add you guys to my list today.

The games i play on live are only, Halo 2, V8 Supercars 3, and occasionaly NFS Under Ground 2.
