So far, mines been on for just over 28 days, without a restart.
not my record without a restart, but i was most annoyed when i recieved an email yesterday saying they are doing power testing in 4 weeks in the building. i am getting a few errors when trying to delete some folders, saying they are in use... WTF... its impossible, no one is connected, and i have nothing open... typical windows.

my record was my old machine which i gave to my parents a couple of years ago. it went 10 months without a reboot, power failure, crash. was very impressed since i overclocked the hell out of most of the gear in the machine and wasnt giving it much longer. its still working for my parents some 2.5 years later.

At the moment, mine's on 1 day and 19 hours.
That's because we had power failures which fried some data in the server, plus the server self restarted itself around 4 times last weekend.

About 3 days for me. That's because I'm downloading heaps of torrents, despite the fact that's I've gone over my monthly internet quota, and am now running at dial-up speeds. It will probably be on for the rest of the week.

Computers at my work are on literally forever, people only log out, never even restart.
I restarted one just to clear the memory and get things above a slow chug and it tooks Windows 35 minutes to start up because it had to install a gazillion patches auto update had collected over the months. |

I just put mine into sleep mode when I'm not around. Only reboot when I need to. Dunno how long it's been though.

Ours havent been off since new years - altho we do restart instead of logging out, as IT in Sydney often install startup scripts to patch software and these are only invoked by restarting...

We've got a VMS box at work that hasn't been restarted in 6 years, but that's a proper OS I guess

I log off all the time the same as I do not leave any electrical appliances running in case of a fault, smoke from a fire scares me, refridgerators excluded they must run, although if I am going out for a short time I will leave the computer running and put the lock on in "Zone Alarm" to stop any incoming traffic.

Yeah, mine hasn't been tuned off/restarted sice I went on holidays at Christmas. I know nothing about computers, is it bad to leave it on that long?

I never leave mine on at all, when I'm done it's off. Same for the other 2 in the house, it's a waste of power. I read once some bull about bad for spinning HD's up and down, never had one complain about it yet in 9 years of computing and some 8 HD's.

My main computer has been on since i did a fresh format about a week and a half ago and still runs well and as an added bonus because its running linux you pretty much never have to restart after installing. And my gateway was restarted about 5mins ago but had been running since i built it about 3 weeks ago.
