Default Computer help needed

OK guys ..... I finally got a decent sized HDD(decent compared to what were used to) for this computer & the plan is to run XP and program files on this 20gb HDD & put all the photos, songs & kids stuff on the new 80gb HDD .......

Now I have put the new HDD in & windows did find the new hardware but its not showing in my computer ...... I have set it as slave .......... Im assuming that its not formatted but have not had much experience with XP .........

Do I have to take out this HDD and do a fdisc on the new one or can I format it with this HDD still here ?????????????

what something is wrong

1. xp should display the drive no matter whether formatted or not
2. if i were you id be running XP and program files on more than 20gig at least 80gig (swap files, compression/decompression and other factors)
3. XP does not require u do fdisk anything just right click and format ONLY use NTFS
4. you should have paid way less than $1 per gig otherwise i cost too much

so anyways check the connection one more time, check the slave master thing....if all else fails right click my computer then click on Manage then disk management then it should be easy from there
