Default Engine 'Pinking' ?

I think the person responsible for this sticker found on Mobil bowsers is no longer working for the Oil giant ;)

they call in pinking in the UK. I hear it all the time on Mini forums.

Still sounds silly but.

I used to work for an old english bloke who called it pinking, as did another mechanic I worked for. Come to think of it he spent many years in England too - maybe it's an english thing.
