Default PC problems PLZ help!

Hey all I have just today installed a G-force 6 series NX-6600 video card so I can play gp3 and 4, v82 ect.

Problem #1 Gp4 playes at about 20% speed! sound and video are perfect just slow as!
#2 I cant get my Logitech Driving force to calibrate in the game or more specificly the game cant see the wheel and if I go through the Logitech control panel that does see the game as ok it wont let the game startup :

I have to reinstall the game after this happens!

Any ideas??

(1) you have the latest drivers from the web right? not of the cd as these could be old. goto nvidia website
are you running anything in the background, like anti virus, see whats taking up the cpu load. have you dropped the settings down to a different resolution, and turned off some graphic settings in the game...

(2) thinking about it..

Have you checked your nVidia video properties in the Display Properties group in Windows? There are some accelerator settings in that. Also is the game actually using the acceleration? Check the game settings.

yeah check that your other setting IE cpu, ram, frequency, etc is higher than the minimum requirements

id also like to say you should have got the 6600GT but theres many reasons why you didnt

240% means something is wrong make sure the computer isnt overclocked - this causes system hang and instablity regardless of machine if it wasnt stock its not garunteed

update your software, close unusedd programs, you might need a format if its worth it, if you no how take your ram out and give the slot and the connectors a clean

ALSO did u plug power into the graphics card? if it needed it or there might be one on the board near the card...check them NOW

problem #2
check out the logitech website - troubleshooting or the help forums????
update the software on that

if all else fails install XPSP2 im guessing your using XP...its not as bad as everyone says it is its more helpful than anything... yeah try that and see what happens

hows the Hard drive, not suggestion this will solve it, but is it fragmented?

also when you play the game, does the hard drive go mental, and is being accessed all the time... aka making noise constintalty

i also assume it only happens on this game? is that correct

oh ok im not sure on whether thats right...you said yourself you didnt know now much about computers...but if thats all correct thats one slow machine bit like a falcon tuned as a dihatsu...

yeah your card and those specs should at least be getting 30-70fps on default settings..

hit del when you turn the computer on to get into the bios, then its usually a blue backdrop with a few colours nothing more, the setting your looking for is load 'optimal' settings, these arent the fastest settings but they WONT destroy your computer either

with the logitech problem if its no drama, uninstall then re-install that software or maybe download the newer version off the net, if your using the game or midi?? port i cant recommend anything if its a USB then try a different USB port as its only 2 external to every 1 internal connector its possible 1 might not be getting enough power....but thats a different story and costs more money so just change the ports if you can

if you still got problems ill take pics of my comp on how to do it that way you know what im talking about

Did you uninstall your previous video card before installing the new one...

It is recommended to completely remove all traces of the previous video driver before instaling the new one.

Download and install a small program called DriverCleaner from http://www.drivercleaner.net/

Uninstall the video card from Device Manager.

Reboot into Safe Mode (it will want to reinstall your vid card...just cancel that).

Run DriverCLeaner Pro and under Cleaning Selection, choose nVidia.

Once done, reboot into windows (cancel the new hardware wizard if it starts again), and run the driver installation.

Worth a try...

Does your motherboard have onboard video? Because that video memory amount it's reporting is consistent with a much older or a very basic video card. Onboard video uses system memory and the default setting is usually about 32MB, but can be set to use more.
There'll be a setting in the BIOS somewhere where you can turn the onboard video off, so that now it should use the new card which I believe is more capable than the frame rates you've been getting.
