Has anyone painted their brake calipers themselves? I know that there are special heat resistant paints for such purposes. Is there anything else I shud be aware of?..Wud really like to hear from those who's done it
I have ordered a can of bright yellow. Shud look gud on my black car and white alloys.

Best tip I can give you is to make sure the calipers are super clean before you paint them, otherwise it will never look any good. Plenty of degreaser and a good scrub with a wire brush etc to get all the crap off.
Give it a few coats of the final colour too.

yeah degreaser or thinners, we submerged them in thinners and scrub everything off then use "brake caliper paint" and do several coats

Yeah only thing I dont like the idea of really is that I have seen a few ones driving about where the red paint has faded and looks a horrible reddish orange colour.
Apart from the hassle of not driving the car for a while when painting / drying... the fading has put me off trying this mod. Zetec20 - how did the end result go with the XR6T... and hows the paint looking? How long has it been there? |

The white rims makes it look awesome.
