I think they they get all of that from Masterfoods corp.

They come to Maccas in sealed 1 litre bags. The pouches are plain unmarked other than the flavour and use by.

It could also be Cadbury but the stuff that Maccas gets from them is usually branded and marked like Flake and the McFlurry toppings

A friend who worked there once told me you could buy anything Macca's uses over the counter in the store. Don't know if it's true but if it is you might be able to just buy a bag??

If you're good mates with someone who works there, preferably working an open or close shift, its pretty easy to scab a bag off the shelf

My brother worked at Hungry Jacks for a while and would usually take a 1 litre bag of caramel topping every now and then.

That is where I got my "Ford Tought Blvd" sign from. Thanks Hungry Jacks.

i think it depends on the store you go to and what you want it for, because my brother's a manager of a maccas store we can get just about anything from the store including helium gas and balloons :

It can't be. Maccas don't have a contract with IXL. Even all over the world, maccas caramel topping tastes the same. I've never bought a caramel topping from any shop that ever tated like it, and beleive me I have tried. It is fantastic tasting caramel topping, I'll give that to them..

You would be suprised... Most major chains, buy from other name brand companies. eg KFC uses Ighams chicken(at least in SA), the cheese at Dominos in SA at least is made by farmers Union. Maccas and other companies vary their products slightly around the world to suit local produce. And their receipies and bought/sold under licence agreements to other companies.

I used to work at Maccas!........20 years ago!

Every "Sunday" night, pardon the pun, they'd empty out the caramel and chocolate topping plungers! I was polite enought to take large cups of it home. I can't believe I used to eat that stuff straight mmmm :sm_drool:

Correct. Meat is From FJ Walkers, OSi and AFC. Fries are from Walkers also.

All of the McDonald's sauces and Toppings are produced exclusively for McDonald's. It has been eight years since I was a McManager, however I doubt nothing has changed.

My Store had Surveillance cameras in the 'Cage' (Dry storage Areas) so any pilfering was deterred. That didn't stop some people stealing the Monopoly Fry Boxes and Cups. Made for interesting Crew Meetings...

When I worked at Maccas, from 2001 to 2005, I was doing 5 shifts a week, 3 shifts after school and 2 on the weekend. I ate at least 1 Maccas meal(sometimes 2 meals) everyday day for 5 days of every week, and had all the energy I needed for 8-3:30 at school and 4 to 12pm at work. I was still growing when I first started (being a 14, 9months on my first day), but never went over 74kg even being 18. I remember getting a physical checkup at the end of 2002 and I came through all the tests with flying colours.

Its only after I left working there where it was hustle for an 8 hour shift, got a job sitting down in an office all day and also stopped eating heaps of fast food that I gained weight to where I am now, ~95kg.

Remember the Supersize-me documentary? If you stopped doing anything physical, whatever you eat will make you like that. Especially if you overinduldge on one type food. I could make a similar documentary on problems excessive fruit consumption can give you... Its all about balance and what energy you put into yourself you have to output.

How about this- make some at home and with a little practice, you'll find it tastes WAY better than the Macca's one.

Put two cups of sugar in a pan

Cover with warm water and heat til dissolved

Continue to heat til boils furiously

Watch it as it begins to turn golden in colour..do NOT leave it !!

swill it around a little and once it has darkened a bit more (this takes practise to get right!) and pour cream on...about 1 normal pot (300ml or so)

Mind the steam as it goes in and stir until caramel redissolves and darkens a bit more.
Take off heat and stir in a large nob of cold butter til dissolved.

BINGO! you have a beautiful butterscotch sauce!

The only difficult part is darkening the caramel with out burning it...if you burn it, it will be bitter, no matter what you do to it. If you don't darken it enough, it wont taste caramelly and will be a bit sickly and pale.

Give it a shot- you will never look back once you have mastered this!!

I used to make my own syrup to go on pancakes. Made it with brown suger and little water and butter. Add a thinly chopped banana and it just brings even more flavour to the table.
