The only people who do not like the Mexican Wave are the old snobs in the MCC. I say, let the wave live!

Bay13 are tryhards.

Keep the wave.

Get rid of the idiots who proceed to throw rubbish/beer cans etc onto the field while doing the mexican wave.

Nothing wrong with the wave if you're not throwing a ton of crap into the air while you do it.

We should call this the country of bans.... Mexican waves and Australian flags on Australia Day, i am still annoyed about having fireworks banned. I wish we lived in a free democratic country, and not under dictatorship

I think the reason it was talking about being banned was as mentioned above, the rubbish etc, that gets thrown into the air. My parents went, and got drowned in beer and all kinds of soft drink and food every time the wave went up...

Other than that, I cant see that there would be any problem.

No, we should call it the country of mindless f---wits who cant control themselves. If there wasnt so much crap being thrown around during the wave, there'd be no issue.

Stop blaming the authorities and direct your anger towards those who are responsible - the citizens to your left and to your right.

If this minority of morons could apply the slightest amount of common sense, the authorities would not need to step in and protect everyone from their stupidity.

Freedom implies rights. Rights have responsibilities. If we cant - as a wholel - address out responsibilities... then it should come as no suprise that our rights will be slowly eroded!!!

As has been said above don't blame Cricket Australia - blame the ****-wits who throw stuff up in the air as it goes around. They're the ones spoiling everyone elses fun.

So are they going to stop people at the footy from cheering? countless times I have seen people showered in beer when their team kicks a goal!

Its OK unless you are sitting with all the yobs and you get sprayed with beer or the remains of a fried chook or God knows what else. Thankfully I have moved on from sitting in the yob section and usually get a reserved seat these days. That said, I was sitting in $85 seat for the last Swans game in Sydney last year and a drunk managed to fall onto 3 people and cause them all sorts of injuries (lady got a dislocated shoulder for a start). No one is really safe from the yobbo, the MCG is probably worse. I reckon the female teenager they had on crowd control should have told him to sit down as he was prancing around drunk for half an hour before hand. He was a Fremantle supporter.

Thats disgusting actually.

Cheering and having fun is fine, but when it comes to ruining other people's day, or insulting people, its ridiculous.

Oh, and the members have a very different perspective on things. Just goes to show, there is more than one way of seeing something.

Yeah I used to go to Swans games at the SCG with a rich mate whose parents had members and guest passes. Its a different world in there. You could get fish and chips for $5 or something. The worst part is you have to get there early to sit where you want.

The problem with the wave is, that those elements, drunk teenagers in bay 13 area, like to use the disruption to throw heaps of items in the air. I have seen these items hit other people, including a half filled coke bottle hitting a young girl in the face. I think the move sounds ridiculous and I have no idea how they will regulate it, but I understand why.

People sit in and around bay 13 so when the cricket gets boring you can always rely on the yobbos to keep everybody entertained.
If you sit in bay 13 you are accepting, stuff getting thrown in the air, offensive language, and provocative remarks towards the other sex!
Bay 13 behaviour is almost a tradition at the cricket!
I know I will be sitting in or around bay 13! : : :sm_headba

Another vote for this. Absolutely 100% spot on. As much as we're over-governed in this country, we've also turned "blame shifting" into an art form. This issue isn't the MCC's fault; it isn't the government's fault............its the fault of the nimrods who parade around masquerading as humans who get as p*ssed as skunks and behave like clowns throwing stuff all over the joint.

End result = we get rules made to suit the lowest common denominator of society. And that theory goes for any other situation where people can't act in a half decent manner, be it hooning, violent demonstrations, riots, vandalism, assaults, theft, road rage, or any other like issue that seems to be getting progressively worse as time goes on.

Oops. Sorry for the thread drift. Rant over.

Is it really just a 'minority' but? I was watching ten news last night, when it was being reported, and the clip they showed sure wasn't flattering. I'd estimate 40% of people were throwing garbage in the air, not just a couple of 'trouble-makers'
