Doesn't anyone know of some great new songs? And what do you all think of the songs listed?

I think music has sucked for too long.
In Australia, we have an over-saturation of talentless slags from Australian Idol, as well as blonde tarts from soap television shows (with even less talent) and young men whose sexuality will always be brought into question. 90% of people who like music only like singles and therefore, never appreciate anybody's full talents. Being an Offspring fan (89-97), I think their "Greatest Hits" album is crap, and get really ****ed when people only name singles. Grrr...shoot them. My brother once in a while listens to the totally heavy stuff and my father always asks him, "How can you listen to that? It's just shouting and banging drums!" My response is, "Well, at least it's them doing it, compared to former soapie-stars or Nikki Webster, who get people to do all the work for them, and they just sing." No. Give my Magic1278 (Formerly 693) anyday! |

I really like the songs in my list but i guess no one thinks of them at all to be good :( lol. I didn't start this thread about "what albums out are great?" but about songs/singles.

Might I suggest you go buy Back in Black by AC/DC. It will change you forever. I used to be into the kinda stuff you are into now, its a natural progression. Down with Emos. |

Can someone tell me who is Australias best group at the moment? It seems most of the charts are made up by;
a) Former "Idol" contestants that would not appeal to anyone above 17. b) Imported post-alternative rock bands such as the killers, hinder, snow patrol, rouge traders. c) American Rap thats stuipedly fake and over produced like eminem, 50 cent, P Diddy etc. d) Weak little emo bands that appeal to teenagers usually the flavor of the month. Is it me or does the current generation of teenagers (being one myself) have any idea that Barnsey, Men at Work, Goanna and Cold Chisel could **** all over the current bands? Btw one recommendation 'Nosebleed Section' & 'What A Great Night' by Hilltop Hoods are worth a download. |

P. Diddy Ft. Christina Aguilera - Tell Me is alright.
But don't really listen to the radio much so don't really know whats on. And everyone has different tastes so it doesn't mean what you like is better than what other people like. Like all the songs from the first post thought! |

I don't like how emo is bottled in with punk, gives punk a bad name old school punk bands like Pennywise, NOFX, MXPX etc have no chance these days
On subject... I like that new The Roots song that JJJ is playing at the momment, i forget the name.. |

Serial Fool - My two personal favourite Aussie bands have been Karnivool and Cog for quite a long time.. I still remember seeing 'Vool at the Mooroolbark community centre around here years ago thinking "**** these guys are gonna go places", and alas they did. Good on em ey. IMO, there's no best group. There's really only good and bad music, to take a leaf from Duke Ellington. |

Don’t mind the Top one in the list but none of the others.
Most of the music I listen to is from the 70’s-80’s and a bit from the 90’s and even less post 2000 stuff, IMO most stuff today is chit anything good has already been written. I hate most dance and all rap music> so that makes going to pubs and clubs a real blast LOL. Never been to a Big day out Etc as I can’t justify the money going to see one or possibly 2 bands and even then I will only want to hear maybe 3-4 of the songs anyway. If I can get to go and see just one ACDC consent in my life I will be thrilled I am 22 buy the way. |

Sneaky Sound System - Pictures. Not really really new but newish :
I really like the dance/techno remixes of old songs as well as the original songs. I like a very wide variety and music. While at work today I listened to metal, rock, techno, rave, dance, rap, R&B, oldies. I've been listening to internet radio at work the last week or so direct from the US and there is lots of channels to listen to. No commercials too. I even found a Studio 54 channel :disco: Agree though that majority of today's music is crap. |

Unfortunately the only things I hear on the radio are the same songs every day. Nothing really new. As far as pop goes there are quite a few good songs around but jeez there are some crap ones too. Which is why cds/mp3s are good. If you whinge about the music your listening to then its your own fault lol

Nickleback made just ONE decent song and that was 'Animals'. I first heard it while looking at some old Dick Johnson Cossies on YouTube. Look for Dick's Aviators :

Hinder = Creed, not nickelback.
Sounds just like the neckless vocals pumped out by scott stapp. can't stand it. I assume you listen to Nova. They play the same 5 to 10 song loop all day and only change the "in" songs every 3 or so weeks. It's no shame for them to play the same song 6 times in one of my 8 hour shifts. |

Incubus' new album I'm in love with.
10 Years, Institute, Default, Alter Bridge, Chevelle, SR-71, APC is all my sort of stuff. Those 4 you mentioned, I think, are horrible.

I'm the kind of person that likes songs no matter the genre because I can't listen to the same style over and over. lol someone said I probably listen to nova. You are right. They have all diffent genres. I like 2day fm aswel. I can't stand the edge, triple M and mix 106.5 because it is the same genre over and over. I used to listen to wsfm alot because I love the old classics. I can understand If you may think I'm emo from that list but those are the current songs out now that I am enjoying. P.S I love that N.emo pic lol

I have to admit, most bands these days suck hardcore, am in only 20! But, I came across a band called Airbourne, and they seem to be pure pub aussie rock, bit like the AC/DC of old. Has anyone heard these guys live? Their shows look intense?
http://www.myspace.com/airbournerock Runnin Wild when it's released will be a rock anthem in no time I hope. (I know it's a My Space, but trust me, its as far away from the emo music scene you can get)

EF what else - Airborne have been around for a while now, they had a good run at last year or the year before's? big day out as well, which kinda got them out there. I don't mind them at all and it's good pub rock, but at the same time, it's kinda just time repeating with nothing new. If people want something different for radio, you should try PBS or RRR, or even JJJ.. And you won't be getting the same playlist all day, that's if you're open minded enough about music. I hardly listen to radio though as I reckon most is rubbish, i just chuck in the good old CD's in the car. |
